Nubuck Leather

Cow/Buffalo nubuck leather is a type of top-grain leather made from the hide that has been buffed or sanded on the outer side to create a soft, velvety texture.

It’s derived from the outer (top) layer of the hide, making it durable yet softer than full-grain leather. The sanding or buffing process creates a texture similar to suede but more robust. Nubuck has a fine, velvet-like surface and is softer than regular leather. Nubuck often has a matte, slightly fuzzy appearance and is prone to slight color variations and natural markings, giving it a unique character. It’s often dyed in various colors. It’s more durable than suede because it’s made from the top grain of the hide rather than the inner layer. However, it still requires protection and careful maintenance to resist stains and moisture.

While nubuck has a similar texture to suede, it’s typically more expensive and durable due to the top-grain material used. Regular care with a protective spray and cleaning is recommended to preserve its quality and appearance.
